About PVRA Gymkhana Shows

What is a Gymkhana show:

Gymkhana horse events are a fun and exciting way to enjoy the sport of equestrian, Gymkhana events are competitions that involve timed obstacle
courses in an arena, and riders must maneuver their horses through a series of obstacles. Gymkhana events can test the skill and training of both horse and rider, and offer an exciting challenge for equestrian enthusiasts.

From barrels to jumps, there are a variety of different events to choose from. Gymkhana horse events are a great way to get the whole family involved in the sport, and can be enjoyed by riders of all ages and skill levels.

Time:

Entry Booth opens at 3:30 PM
First Class will start promptly at 5:00 PM. Please do not be late.

Who Can Participate:

This is a family and beginner friendly show series that is open to both members and the public to participate.

Benefits of PVRA Membership:

Discounted Show fees and members only are eligible for  PVRA year end high point awards.

Points are not retroactive, so join today!

Age Divisions:

Leadline, 12 and Under, 13-17, 18-35, and 36 & Over

Entry Fees:

Choose your classes individually or for the day
    PVRA Members $10/Per class OR $60 All Day (6 classes)
    Non Members $12/Per class OR $70 All Day (6 classes)
    $15 Grounds fee/per horse for Members AND Non members

Payment Method: cash or check (checks payable to PVRA)

Show Information:

PVRA Gymkhana Shows follow the California Gymkhana Association rules and use the 13 CGA patterns and extra event patterns. Contact gymkhana@pvra.com for more information. Click on the flyers above for 2024 Premium and Event diagrams as pdf files.

●      Leadline riders must be led.

●      Riders 18 and under are required to wear a helmet – no exceptions!

●      Riding boots and pants are required.

●      Sleeveless shirts fewer than two inches on the shoulders are not allowed.

●      A parent/legal guardian must sign up all minors (under the age of 18).

●      CGA rules apply where PVRA ground rules do not dictate.

●      Ribbons (first to sixth) are awarded in each division.

●      Please bring your chairs, food, and drink to enjoy the shows.

●      Please bring jackets or warm clothes during the colder weather since temperatures will drop fast after sunset.

●      Participants are subject to be photographed, videoed, and posted on website or social media unless indicated otherwise.

●      Dogs must be on a leash at all times, and owners are responsible to clean up after the dogs.

To fulfill your membership volunteer hours please reach out to the show manager. (You can pick dates and job functions) reach out to the Show Manager.
